In the horizon of the question about the formation of professionals from research, this article deals with a sensitiveness process about the city, carried out by students attending last terms of Universidad de Medellin Advertising Graphic Communication program. In a focused way, it characterizes the images of a city, present in the construction of maps and journals in which students expressed their feelings about the city, before, during, and after their field work. With this information, the role of professionals in contemporaneous society is analyzed, bearing in mind subject-city-knowledge relation, in which the way how communication may construct networks of sense and social relations is looked for.
