GIRALDO DAVILA, Andrés Felipe. ''Virtual reality'': analysis of the theoretical framework for exploring new communication models. anagramas rumbos sentidos comun. [online]. 2011, vol.9, n.18, pp.93-109. ISSN 1692-2522.

This article is the result of a revaluation of the theoretical framework and methodological process of a project called ''New Communication Models,'' conducted by a research team known as ''Communication, Organization, and Politics'' (COP) from Universidad de Medellin School of Communication. It was found that communication models should be analyzed from three different points of view. First, from the link between virtuality and reality. Second, the existing relationship between information technology processes and social sciences. Third, modifications of public and private spheres due to virtual tendencies. Quantitative and ethnographic methods do not make design of new communication models easier, so a qualitative-descriptive methodological process was adopted. Besides, social interactions derived from virtual use come together to the so called ''virtual reality'' in which man is involved, so assumptions on the theory of interface could provide an appropriate approach for describing new communication models.

Palavras-chave : virtuality; reality; model; TIC; interface.
