Abstract

RAMIREZ BUSTAMANTE, Natalia. LEY 581 DE 2000, O LEY DE CUOTAS, ¿GANAMOS O PERDIMOS?. Opin. jurid. [online]. 2007, vol.6, n.11, pp.103-114. ISSN 1692-2530.

This essay presents two moments of women's struggle for work equality rights and the equality in accessing to work opportunities. The first one was the struggle carried out by the working women in Bello, 1920; and the second was the struggle for the adoption and subsequent application of law 581 of 2000, also known as the law of quotas. Although the feminine and feminist struggle has been heading towards obtaining a series of rights and guarantees, perhaps now it is the moment to reshape its direction, that is, to diversify the goals of women movements so that the objectives would not only be constituted by the legal consecration of these rights. In this order, Wendy Brown's criticism on rights is very suggestive.

Keywords : Women's right and struggle in Colombia; work equality right; law 581 of 2000; law of quotas; criticism to the rights; women's movements in Colombia.
