Law of torts, in general, and particularly civil liability resulting from torts caused by defective products and services are an important segment of modern consumer protection systems. This article tackles functions and objectives of liability due to defective products and services. Then, and based on the evolution of several American "Restatement of the Law of Torts," some evaluations are made about the way to reach a proper protection for consumer/victim.
