Abstract
GALLO CALLEJAS, Mauricio Andrés. World poverty, justice, and Human Rights. Opin. jurid. [online]. 2010, vol.9, n.18, pp.19-38. ISSN 1692-2530.
In this article I make a question on the normative status which, based on our current beliefs, we should give to the situation of million people in the world doomed to live under extreme poor conditions. In relation to this topic, I pose the following two thesis: (i) construction of normative judgments which allow us re-describe the value we are giving to their condition is not only possible but also our duty. With re-description, I mean the inclusion of their griefand suffer as issues of global political justice which should involve all human beings; (ii) such a re-description, that is, giving this new normative status to world poverty does not demand from us either the creation of global principles of distributive justice -world republic- which risk value of current States or the justification of violence as political struggle tool in the search for moral correction of such institutions.
