Abstract

RAMIREZ GOMEZ, Andrés Armando. An Approach to a Constitutional Concept of Citizenship Training School. Opin. jurid. [online]. 2011, vol.10, n.20, pp.193-203. ISSN 1692-2530.

The term ''citizenship training school'' is wrongly used because several training processes and civic and political education projects corresponding to specific contexts and several educational interests are identified. In order to obtain a concept which may determine both content and scope of a citizenship training school, having the Colombian Political Constitution (Republic of Colombia, 1991) as a reference is a must, because both concepts (citizenship training and Constitution) show a necessary and indivisible relationship. In our case, 1991 Constitution establishes some basic guidelines in Articles 41 and 67 which can be used as a parameter for foundation, themes, and methodology of a citizenship training school. Consequently, the Constitution becomes a general and mandatory study plan for all kind of citizenship training schools; a plan which is supported by an ethical-social and political education from the axiology and principle content, which allows strengthening the democratic model and generating a higher social cohesion.

Keywords : axiology; Constitution; wrong; school; ethical-social; citizenship training; political education; constitutional pedagogy.
