Abstract

This article is intended to approach to an understanding of globalization of contemporary law trying to find out how this process has operated within the Colombian legal system. For this purpose, the article is initially intended to generate an understanding about social and political nature of law based on the thesis that modern law cannot be understood without relating it to the nature of productive social relations. In the same way, the article makes an analysis of several phases productive social organization has gone through and reviews some characteristics of law within accumulation and valuation phases of society; finally, the article is intended to point out some characteristics of globalization process within the internal legal system.
