Abstract

BRUZON VILTRES, Carlos Justo. Jurisprudence in Cuba: Analysis of its Recognition as a Formal Source of the Legal System. Opin. jurid. [online]. 2013, vol.12, n.23, pp.167-186. ISSN 1692-2530.

This article is intended as an approach to the jurisprudence topic as a source of law, the new ways it is used in Cuba, and possible consequences of its recognition for the legal system. The starting point are indeterminacy of formal sources in the Cuban legal system and the increasingly active role of superior judicial entities in the integration process of law, with jurisprudence formation manifestations as a way to create new legal regulations.

Keywords : Jurisprudence; law sources; legal system; Cuba; judicial activity.
