SIQUEIRA-GARCIA, Denise Schmitt and SIQUEIRA-GARCIA, Heloise. Facing the Covid-19 Pandemic: Empathic Sustainability as a Measure of Union Against the Transnational Reality. Opin. jurid. [online]. 2020, vol.19, n.spe40, pp.533-550. Epub Sep 22, 2021. ISSN 1692-2530. https://doi.org/10.22395/ojum.v19n40a25.
During 2020 the world experienced a pandemic due to the disease known as COVID-19, which is caused by the coronavirus, a family of viruses responsible for respiratory infections that are easily transmitted among humans and spread rapidly across countries. In view of this reality, research and academic manifestations are necessary in the search for measures, instruments, policies and principles capable of mitigating the negative consequences of this pandemic, the context where this work was developed. Based on philosophical and theoretical criteria, this paper has the general objective of presenting empathic sustainability as a measure of unity in order to face the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic from a transnational perspective. It was verified that overcoming the negative consequences of this reality will depend on the joint actions of people and countries all around the world, since the pandemic is clearly a deterritorialized demand that must be faced through empathic sustainability. The elaboration of this paper involved the application of the inductive method along with techniques such as the referent, the category, operational concepts, bibliographic research, and the registry.
