MONTOYA JARAMILLO, Luis Javier; SILVA ARROYAVE, Sandra Milena and GONZALEZ, Juan Esteban. Evaluation of hazard zones by torrent flow using qualitative methodologies: Application to the case of Doña María basin. Rev. ing. univ. Medellín [online]. 2009, vol.8, n.15, pp.11-29. ISSN 1692-3324.
This paper shows the application of a methodology for evaluation of hazard zones by torrent flow, it was done at Doña Maria basin. Hazard evaluation was done using geographical information system, and the residual pondered weight method, for the evaluation of different factors as topography, slope, geology and geomorphology, cumulative flow, distance to the rivers and Melton index for each ones to the affluent basin. The results obtained allow to identify that the little basin that more hazard presented were la Arenala, la Tablaza, la Limona y la Manguala. These results also were verified through field recognitions y comparison with the results of hydraulic modeling for a return period flow of 100 years increased in 40%.
