Abstract
HIDALGO MONTOYA, César Augusto; PANDALES, Carlos Arturo; PEDROZA VALDES, Boris Andrés and RODRIGUEZ MORENO, Mario Alberto. Behavior of an experimental track of flexible pavement with lime stabilized base. Rev. ing. univ. Medellín [online]. 2010, vol.9, n.16, pp.37-47. ISSN 1692-3324.
This paper presents results of a research carried out to determine the proprieties of deformation of lime stabilized bases using non destructive field tests. Static plate tests and Benkelman beam tests were made on an experimental track of flexible pavement of 70 m length. Several mixtures of soil-lime and several thickness of the stabilized base were used to evaluate the behavior of the pavement. With the results of these tests, back analysis of the behavior of pavement was carried out. The finite elements method and the elastic stress and strain in a multi layers system were used to estimate the deformation modulus of the lime stabilized bases. It is concluded that the lime addition significantly improves the properties of evaluated pavements.
