Abstract

From an analysis of integration and correlation from general to particular and based on the specific context in organizations such as the present circumstances of generating knowledge and stimulating individual and organizational learning, this research have explored the concepts of community practice and democratization, as sharing strategy and to guide the use of knowledge in organizations. It aims to contribute to the construction of the concept of democratization of knowledge in organizations, analyzing the specific characteristics, features, and aspects of the communities of practice, as a knowledge management strategy in organizations, which can support that objective. This article begins with an introduction and presents concepts such as: community of practice, knowledge management strategy, and democratization. Finally, an analysis which seeks to relate the concepts of democracy and community of practice, so that from there, the question: are communities of practice, a strategy for the democratization of knowledge in organizations? may be answered. In the final section, conclusions about the ideas resulting from the reflection on the object of study of this document are drawn
