In relation to the national policy for water management, Decree 3930, 2010 ratifies the importance and need for formulating Water Ordering Plans; although Decree 1594, 1984 had already established this need, few progress has been achieved in the country in relation to this topic. This article is a synthesis of results of a research project hired by CORANTIOQUIA and conducted by Universidad de Antioquia with respect to the design of a methodological proposal for formulating Water Ordering Plans. This methodology has already been applied to formulate Water Ordering Plans for water bodies in micro-basins from CORANTIOQUIA Tahamíes and Zenufaná territories.
