Abstract

RIOS, MARÍA DEL PILAR; HOYOS, JOSÉ LUIS  and  MOSQUERA, SILVIO ANDRÉS. EVALUATION OF PARAMETERS PRODUCTION OF THE SEED Pleurotus ostreatus SPREED IN DIFFERENT CULTURE MEDIA. Rev.Bio.Agro [online]. 2010, vol.8, n.2, pp.86-94. ISSN 1692-3561.

Alternative media were evaluated for the propagation of Pleurotus ostreatus and its behavior was compared with that of a commercial media. The response to these media was measured through the adaptation of the fungus in barley for obtaining the commercial seed and this one in its turn in the response to a substratum based on cane bagasse for obtaining oyster mushrooms. In the first phase the fungus was obtained and planted in a solid media of potato extract at two concentrations and three pH values using a factorial design 2x3 (pH vs. concentration of potato extract). In the second phase was measured the growth of Pleurotus ostreatus inoculated in sterilized hydrated barley through a completely random design 3x3. In the third phase was evaluated the colonization and fructification of the fungus in cane bagasse using parameters as biológical efficiency performance and seed production rate, with a completely random design 3x3. The alternative media with pH 5,0 was the most adequate for the growth of Pleurotus ostreatus, displaying its adaptability to media with high carbohydrates content which performances were appropiate to obtain competitive production levels in growth and fructification, diminishing thus the incubation and harvesting time.
