Resumen

RIVERA, DIEGO; OBANDO, MELISSA; GARRIDO, MARÍA F  y  BONILLA, RUTH. EFFECT OF AGROCHEMICALS IN COTTON SEED PELLETS ON MONIBAC® BIOFERTILISER BASED ON Azotobacter chroococcum. Rev.Bio.Agro [online]. 2011, vol.9, n.2, pp.130-138. ISSN 1692-3561.

In this study, we analyzed the influence of pesticides in vitro pellet simultaneously with the fungicide (active ingredient: carboxin: 5,6-dihydro-2-methyl-N-phenyl-1,4-oxathiin-Z carboxamide and tiram: tetramethylthioperoxydicarbonic diamide) and an insecticide (active ingredient: Malathion: S-1,2-Bis (ethoxycarbonyl) ethyl-0, O-dimethylthiophosphate) in cotton seeds on the viability of biofertiliser Monibac® -based Corpoica Azotobacter chroococcum ACT, when applied together in experimental trays. We analyzed the practice of coating the seeds with chemicals as possible causes of population decline of the bacteria in this model of implementation. The results obtained by Duncan's test (p<0.05) demonstrated that the use of agrochemicals affect the viability of A. chroococcum ACT, causing a decrease in concentration but without involving the disappearance of the organism in the cotton seed. Likewise, the contact time with the microorganism pesticides influenced (p<0.05) on the viability of this reflected a decrease in concentration with increasing length of exposure. This study contributes to knowledge on the efficient use of biofertilisers to the compatibility that exists with the chemicals applied to cotton farming inputs allowing use these chemicals without affecting the proliferation and activity of microorganisms.

Palabras clave : Pesticides; Azotobacter chroococcum; viability; compatibility.
