Abstract
PEREZ L., CRISTIAN ANDRÉS; VILLALBA M., JUAN CARLOS and ALMANZA P., MARTHA ISABEL. PHENOLOGY OAK (Quercus humboldtii Bonpland) IN POPAYÁN (CAUCA, COLOMBIA). Rev.Bio.Agro [online]. 2013, vol.11, n.spe, pp.145-154. ISSN 1692-3561.
A phenological record of Oak Quercus humboldtii Bonpland was carried out during a year between March 2010 and March 2011 in the Colombian Popayán municipality. The female flowers and young fruits production took place between late March and early April, both phenological phases positively correlated throughout the year with the temperature (respectively r=0.64 and 0.44), and with higher precipitation levels during its initial stages (respectively r=0.69 and 0.92). The fruits ripened in May, although their number was reduced to several by abortion by end of 2010. The vegetative activity is characterized by continuous presence of new leaves, ripe, yellow, over ripened and fall foliage. With increased temperature and drought of August however, foliage fall, reduced formation of new leaves in simultaneous presence of mature ones were observed.
