Abstract
GOMEZ N., GILMA M.; ORTIZ, MONICA A; PEREA R, CRÍSPULO and LOPEZ, FREDY J. ASSESSMENT OF THE VISCERA SILAGE OF RED TILAPIA (Oreochromis spp) IN BROILER CHICKEN FEED. Rev.Bio.Agro [online]. 2014, vol.12, n.1, pp.106-114. ISSN 1692-3561.
The higher costs of production in poultry farming come from the food, hence the importance of developing strategies for its reduction. Therefore, it was proposed as the objective the evaluation of the effects of the viscera silage inclusion of red tilapia (Oreochromis spp) in broiler chicken feeding during initiation stage. We used a completely randomized design with four treatments, four replicates per treatment and 8 chickens per repetition. The inclusion levels used were 0%, 10%, 20% and 30%. The response variables used were the food consumption, the weight gain, the feed conversion and their corresponding economic analysis. In the initiation stage, only statistical differences (p> 0,05) for the consumption variable were presented, while in the finishing stage, where silage was not included, there were no significant differences. Regarding the economic analysis, it was determined that as the level of inclusion silage increased, the production costs decreased up to 22,2%, for the case of treatment 3.
