Abstract
HERNANDEZ, FERNANDO JOSÉ; RECALDE, VICTORIA EUGENIA and ERAZO, AYDA MARCELA. CONGENERS DETERMINATION IN EXTRA NEUTRAL RECTIFIED ALCOHOL USED IN THE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ELABORATION. Rev.Bio.Agro [online]. 2015, vol.13, n.1, pp.28-37. ISSN 1692-3561.
The Colombian Technical Standard NTC 4118 establishes 19 congeners presents in alcoholic beverages such as acids, aldehydes, esters and higher alcohols are included. The compounds concentration must be <80 mg.L-1, for the product can be commercially distributed. The increases of compounds concentration involve aroma changes, taste, and human health problems. Standardization and validation of an analytical chromatographic technique (GC/FID) for congeners determination in extra neutral alcohol for alcoholic beverages production, carry out in Industria Licorera del Cauca (I.L.C.) is presented in this article. The validation methodology was performed by determining of sensitivity with detection limit (0,2 to 0,9 mg.L-1) and quantification limit (0,7 and 2,8 mg.L-1), the intermediate precision and repeatability (Shapiro Wilk W(lg=5)<0,986 and W(lg=12)<0,979 respectively), in conjunction with linearity (Pearson correlation 0,977N=40 0,998N=96) it yielded results with high accuracy and determine congeners absence (concentration <LOD) and sec-butyl acetate case (<80 mg.L-1) ensuring quality control and product in excellent condition.
