MORILLO CORONADO, ANA CRUZ; MANJARRES HERNANDEZ, ELSA HELENA  y  MORILLO CORONADO, YACENIA. Morphoagronomic evaluation of 19 of Chenopodium quinoa materials in the Boyacá Department. Rev.Bio.Agro [online]. 2020, vol.18, n.1, pp.84-96. ISSN 1692-3561.  https://doi.org/10.18684/bsaa.v18n1.1416.

Quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Wild.) Is a grain crop grown in the Andes region from the central valleys of Colombia to southern Chile. In Colombia, it is a small-scale farming, where knowledge of their variability is reduced. Within this context, this research had as main objective to perform a morphological characterization of 18 quinoa materials in the department of Boyacá using 27 morphological descriptors. The morphological variation was estimated using the correlation, main components and clusters analyzes. The results show that the highest coefficients of variation were found in the quantitative characters. The analysis of principal components explained more than 70% of the observed variation being the characteristics presence and color of armpits, presence and color of striae, height of the plant, and number of panicles, yield of seeds per plant and weight of 1000 grains. The conglomerates showed a loose distribution of all the individuals evaluated with average yields and grain weight, and the relationship between the quinoa and the related species kiwicha. The morphological characterization of these materials shows the existence of variability that can be used in programs of conservation and genetic improvement of the species in the department of Boyacá.
