Abstract

PUCHMULLER, Andrea Bibiana  and  PUEBLA, María Marcela. ICT in Higher Education: uses and implications in two courses of studies of Argentine Institutions. Encuentros [online]. 2014, vol.12, n.2, pp.11-23. ISSN 1692-5858.

The research identifies the moments of their training at which the students use ICT, to analyze the use of them so as to determine their role as mediating instruments between the elements of the interactive triangle students-teacher-contents and to reflect on the pedagogical implications of the use of ICT in two different High Education contexts: the Teacher Training Program in English Language - Instituto de Formación Docente Continua (IFDC) - San Luis and the Teacher Training Program in Education Sciences, Faculty of Humanities, National University of San Luis (UNSL). This study is quantitative, descriptive and comparative. Data were collected by means of questionnaires designed by teachers of the Teacher Training and ICT Major of the Ministry of National Education. Random samples of 20 students were selected from the two institutions above mentioned. Information analyzed following Coll, Onrubia and Mauri's category on the uses of ICT In these instances ICT come to act as intermediaries of two-dimensional relations (student-content, teacher-content or student-teacher) in which all necessary e-competences to develop digital literacy, characteristic of the Information and Knowledge Society, play a small part.
