Abstract

ISAZA VALENCIA, Laura. Styles of Learning: a bet for the academic performance of the students in the higher education. Encuentros [online]. 2014, vol.12, n.2, pp.25-34. ISSN 1692-5858.

The investigation Styles of Learning: a bet for the academic performance of the students in the higher Education, had as aim identify and describe the present styles of learning in 100 university students, in order to realize a characterization of the students of the first semester of agreement with their ways of learning; and to generate this way, pedagogic offers articulated to the particular styles to learn of the students. This investigation arises due to the low academic performance presented by the students in the first semester of their higher formation, and to the not effective answers that the teachers can give to these particular styles of learning. The study was quantitative, not experimental, descriptive and of court transverse. The used instrument was the Questionnaire Honey-Alonso (1992). The results show that the styles of learning that have a more well-known presence in the students' sample are the pragmatic one and the theoretical one, which associates the traditional, present models in the school previous experiences. There is demonstrated a low trend of the active and reflexive styles, which according to the pedagogic models of higher educationare those who must occupy first place in the students.
