This research article, "Inquiry on profiles by professional competences for the sports communication: a model by arming", text that deals with the state of the art of the sports communication in the framework of the master's program in Communication Sciences, management of the communication, the Division of Graduate Studies at the Faculty of Humanities and Education at the University of Zulia. Has as its central goal determine the professional competencies for skill sport, as well as the pedagogical model that in the Zulia Region must accompany this professional field. It is supported by theories developed by Alcoba (1993), Canquiz and Inciarte (2006), in addition to Tejada and Navio (2005), among others. The research is descriptive, field, with a design of type non-experimental,The sample space was composed of six managers of the mass media was applied to them a structured interview, and by 10 specialists in the sports communication in Zulia, who participated in a focus group. The findings of this research can be applied to the training and exercise of the profession of the communicators dedicated to the sports area.
