Usually, Aphasia has been described as the decrease of language function secondary to acquired brain disease before the acquisition of the mains languages abilities. In this review it's analyzed the approaches in the aphasias topic from a neuralscientific orientation. Papers and text-books were analyzed, for obtain information about scientific conceptions of aphasia. The points of view about aphasia come to us from the second middle of the XIX century without important changes. However, even when this approach about aphasia has been accepted by neurologists and neuropsychologists, is can find today a large numbers of evidence supporting a new perspective about this syndrome. The new evidence enriches the conceptual and practical framework about aphasia, and offering a more complex scientific overview.
