Abstract

The article analyzes the perception of the quality of urban life in the village center Parada (Villa del RosarioColombia border with Venezuela) depending on the sociodemographic characteristics of its residents: gender, age and residence time , through adaptation of the survey “ perception index urban quality of life of the National Institute of Statistics of Chile”. As a main result, a high level of satisfaction is presented with respect to the fact reside in the area, despite the negative perception of the quality of urban life around aspects of public space, environmental problems and basic services, due to processes of adaptation and use changes ground in order to meet the socio-economic needs of the environment.
