SANCHEZ ORTIZ, José Mauricio  and  SANCHEZ REALES, José David. Particularities of the coexistence school in the schools of the southeast of Barranquilla. Encuentros [online]. 2018, vol.16, n.2, pp.92-116. ISSN 1692-5858.  https://doi.org/10.15665/encuent.v16i02.1411.

This article is the result of the research: Affective Pedagogy for Coexistence and Human Development, whose purpose was to analyze school coexistence from the perspective of affective pedagogy in educational institutions in the southeast of Barranquilla, to improve treatment in community. The mixed paradigm was used, since it approaches qualitative and quantitative approaches with a hermeneutic analysis in a concurrent triangulation design. The result shows the most notorious particularities in the three institutions: 80% of students do not engage in mistreatment of colleagues, 75% do not use messages of aggression or revenge in social networks or via cell phone, they accept that they receive in their homes affection, tenderness, appreciation and good treatment; they can express themselves freely in their schools, express their opinions, suggest, propose, elect and be elected; they do not use nicknames. 87% their parents make them feel important. But, the highest rates of weakness, point out: 64% mockery and ridicule, mutual insults, incite others to attack. 50% participate in fights outside of school. 43% take objects from others without permission, and 48% face little family communication.

Keywords : affective pedagogy; emotional intelligence; school coexistence; good treatment; human development.
