The Twentieh Century witnessed the appearance in the public scene of a succession of young generations who led reform, revolution, war, peace, rock, love, drugs, globalization and antiglobalization. The purpose of this paper is to survey the theories on contemporary youth, showing the relationship between the changes which occurred in youth's life styles and the scientific, philophical and literary reflections on this age group.
