DUEK, Carolina. School, games and television: Systematizing a problematic intersection. Rev.latinoam.cienc.soc.niñez juv [online]. 2007, vol.5, n.1, pp.309-326. ISSN 1692-715X.
This paper describes a research project -carried out during 2005- that sought to describe the relationship between television viewing and daily games in a group of 6 to 8 year old children from Buenos Aires (Argentina). We developed an ethnographic observation in three schools and identified the dynamics and relationships between the children and the ways in which objects "derived" from television viewing appeared. Our guiding hypothesis is that children's games are "scripted" by their television consumption-viewing. We propose to further test this hypothesis using ethnographic approaches to collect additional information.
