Abstract

The Brazilian Dictatorship (1964-1985) developed several mechanisms for the care of 'the marginal childhood and adolescence', like it was denominated by the official speech. Into that group of «minors» -synonym of poor child- this paper is going to approach to the «criminal minors» and to analyze how the legislation, the treatment and the ideology about these boys and girls evolved during the dictatorial years, as part of the consolidation and survival strategies of the authoritarian Regime.
