Abstract
CASTILLO, Maribel; CASTRO, Geovanny and GONZALEZ, Oscar Andrés. The children and the perception of poverty in Cali's households. Rev.latinoam.cienc.soc.niñez juv [online]. 2011, vol.9, n.2, pp.573-588. ISSN 1692-715X.
By studying poverty, has been identified that households have their own perception on their welfare so that their measurement is also performed from the subjective. This study determined, based on la Encuesta de Percepción Ciudadana for Cali in the year 2008, households with children under 5 years have seen a greater chance of poor households with children between 5 and 17 years this probability is less. Since households that decided to leave their children under 5 years in the care of an adult were motivated by higher incomes, it is recommended the strengthening of policies to improve them, without diminishing the time that they devote to their children.
