Abstract
TUNON, Ianina and SALVIA, Agustín. Structural limits to childhood development in a crisis context. Rev.latinoam.cienc.soc.niñez juv [online]. 2012, vol.10, n.1, pp.179-194. ISSN 1692-715X.
The present article analyzes the evolution, between 2007 and 2011, of a number of human development indicators of childhood and adolescence, which are fundamental for the child's life maintenance and the development of his/her potential to its maximum: alimentary risk, educational deficit and child labour. The period of time under analysis helps us find which aspects of childhood's human development are more sensitive to the effects of macroeconomic crises such as the one experienced in Argentina between 2007 and 2009, and which are least determined by economic cycles, but more linked to structural conditions.
Keywords : socioeconomic crisis; childhood; alimentary risk; educational deficit; child labour; social inequalities; large urban areas; Argentina.
