This article describes the relation between teaching evaluation and professional self-esteem among Valdivia's teachers. Stake Evaluation Programs and Miranda's Professional Selfesteem were used as conceptual reference from the theoretical and methodological contributions of social psychology. Self reports of a group of teachers belonging to public educational institutions were registered and analyzed. Among the findings is the predictive nature of professional self-esteem in relation to the outcomes of the evaluation of the teaching performance, which has implications in the management of training processes of teachers in the country.
