In Colombia, the problem of youth unemployment has become a priority for research. This article presents the results of a piece of research carried out with young people between 16 and 32 years of age classified in economic levels 1, 2 and 3 in Medellin. This group participated in the governmental project: "Prevention of violence, social exclusion, and promotion of employability". This project approaches the perceptions about violence, social exclusion, employment and social issues about themselves, in young that took part in the program mentioned before. Then, the current investigation follows a qualitative perspective, which will permit further analysis of changes that may occur in young females and males perceptions, once the intervention is finished.
