UNDA, René e ALVARADO, Sara Victoria. Feminization of migration and the role of women in this process. Rev.latinoam.cienc.soc.niñez juv [online]. 2012, vol.10, n.1, pp.593-610. ISSN 1692-715X.
Labor market changes on a global scale have brought about changes on the demands for the type of laborers required from the generation centers in such demand. The feminization of the migratory boom Quito-Madrid 1998-2001 installed new subjectivities rooted in the changes experienced in power relations between men and women (as seen from the category of gender role), within the context of family dynamics and around a radical shift seen from traditional assessments about the importance of separating or not the children from their family. The conceptual fields of gender, power and subjectivity are likely to offer the greatest analytical and explanatory understanding of the role of women-parents-mothers in migration.
