Abstract

ZAMPIERI-GROHMANN, Márcia; FLORES BATTISTELLA, Luciana  and  LUTZ, Carolina. The ethics of consumption: what is the perception of young people?. Rev.latinoam.cienc.soc.niñez juv [online]. 2012, vol.10, n.2, pp.913-925. ISSN 1692-715X.

Abstract: In order to understand the relevance of ethics in the consumer behaviour of young people from Brazil's elite, this study investigates the causal relationship between the importance attributed by young consumers to the ethical conduct of businesses and the propensity of consumers to reward ethical behaviour of companies. Based in the model of Creyer y Ross (1997), the study included 90 students from two upper social classes (namely A and B). The results indicate the relationship between attributed importance to ethics and reward is moderate and thus that ethics is not a major factor in the consumer behaviour of these young people.

Keywords : consumer behaviour; ethics; reward; young people.
