Abstract (analytical): The article analyzes the migratory experiences and the transitions in the educational system and the labor market of a group of young immigrants in the city of Lleida (Cataluña, Spain). The main research technique was ten oral interviews to young immigrants from different nationalities, complemented by observations and interviews to professors. For the youngsters, the school became the main institution for learning and rebuilding the relations of friendships and group coexistence in the host country, but it was also a space for tensions, conflicts, violence and discrimination. In a context of crisis, the young immigrants face problems to carry out the labor transitions, caused by the legal restrictions to immigration, racial biases, precarization of labor relationships and high unemployment rates. We end this research concluding that these young people's dreams coincide with those of their adult relatives and most of their contemporaries: to be able to forge an autonomous life project.
