Abstract

LAZARETTI DA-CONCEICAO, Willian  and  CAMMAROSANO-ONOFRE, Elenice Maria. Adolescents deprived of liberty: the practices of leisure and its educational process. Rev.latinoam.cienc.soc.niñez juv [online]. 2013, vol.11, n.2, pp.573-585. ISSN 1692-715X.

Abstract (synthetic analytical): This article seeks to contribute to existing discussions regarding the leisure of adolescents who are deprived of their liberty in the CASA Foundation in Sao Paulo/Brazil. This is a qualitative study and data was collected using document analysis, participant observation and semi-structured interviews with five young people. We identified three areas of analysis: design of leisure, leisure activities, and educational processes. To this end, educational processes became the focus of leisure activities, being analyzed before deprivation, during detention and during the implementation of disciplinary action. The study highlights the importance of the social practice of leisure as objective possibility of (re-) integration by youth into everyday life, since educational processes contribute to social inclusion.

Keywords : leisure; educational processes; adolescents in deprivation of liberty; Fundação Casa.
