Abstract

FLORES-BATTISTELLA, Luciana; GROHMANN, Márcia  and  IUVA-DE MELLO, Carolina. Welfare State: Ahmed and Jackson’s model in Brazilian context. Rev.latinoam.cienc.soc.niñez juv [online]. 2014, vol.12, n.2, pp.659-673. ISSN 1692-715X.  https://doi.org/10.11600/1692715x.12210111213.

By analyzing the level of publications on welfare state in Brazil, it is clear that the theme is still incipient compared with other countries. This paper aims to translate and validate to the national context, the model proposed by Ahmed and Jackson (1979 as cited in Bearden, Netemeyer & Mobley, 1999) which seeks to assess public attitudes regarding the welfare state. For that a quantitative-type survey was conducted with 101 academics from Universidade Federal de Santa Maria. The validation results were satisfactory. It is suggested as future research to apply the validated model in a larger sample.

Keywords : public policies; welfare; perception; attitudes.
