The aim of this article is to examine the different conceptual aspects regarding the place of children in history using a rights-based perspective. Taking as reference points classic texts and research studies related to the topic. I used a literature review was conducted using databases of scientific articles. The results show that this area hasn’t been studied in an indepth manner and that the strengthening of child participation from an early stage contributes to the development of children’s capacities. The literature review concludes that historically, children had been invisible members of society, yet since the signing of the Convention on the Rights of the Child this vision has been transformed.
