GROPPO, Luis Antonio. Post-critical theories of youth: juvenilization, tribalism and active socialization. Rev.latinoam.cienc.soc.niñez juv [online]. 2015, vol.13, n.2, pp.567-579. ISSN 1692-715X. https://doi.org/10.11600/1692715x.1321300514.
By means of an analytical review of the fundamental bibliography of the sociology of youth, this study had the objective of understanding the sociological concept of youth in contemporary society. These can be described as post-critical theories of youth, highlighting two main trends. First, the trend influenced by the post-modernist and post-structuralism movements that generate concepts such as "youth tribes" and "youth-sign". Second, the trend influenced by theories from the second modernity, which is reflected in the rupture of the linear nature of young people’s transitions and in their active socialization. These theories are challenging the traditional structuralfunctional conception of youth, converting the sociology of youth into a specialty that requires patience and skill in the use of flexible frameworks such as socialization, moratorium, transition and tribes.
