ARIAS-CARDONA, Ana María y ALVARADO, Sara Victoria. Youth and Politics: from formal participation to informal mobilization. Rev.latinoam.cienc.soc.niñez juv [online]. 2015, vol.13, n.2, pp.581-594. ISSN 1692-715X. https://doi.org/10.11600/1692715x.1322241014.
This literature review is structured into two sections; the first explores diverse perspectives from which the theoretical approach to the concept of "youth" is derived, grouping these into three perspectives: bio-psycho-evolutionary, socio-historical and cultural-political. The second section summarizes the consolidated literature review for the categories "youth" and "politics". This involves an exploration of research related to youth and formal political participation in conventional expressions (participation, party membership, voting behavior, etc.) and studies on youth and informal political participation that include alternative actions (social movements, collective action, etc.) The research aims to understand those topics through the frameworks of trans-disciplinary approaches, diversity and context, transcending adult-centered views of young people as "apathetic and disinterested."
