Resumen

SALINAS-QUIROZ, Fernando  y  POSADA, Germán. MBQS: Evaluation method for attachment-based interventions in early childhood. Rev.latinoam.cienc.soc.niñez juv [online]. 2015, vol.13, n.2, pp.1051-1063. ISSN 1692-715X.  https://doi.org/10.11600/1692715x.13235280514.

This article presents the need to develop interventions for caregivers of children aged between 0 and 6 years. Preventive interventions should be tested under objective and scientific conditions to ensure proper child development and to raise awareness among caregivers, given that their sensitive response is a powerful variable in determining a child’s attachment security. This study concludes that attachment-based interventions could be tested assessing the sensitivity of caregivers through a pre and posttest study design with the Maternal Behavior Q-Sort (MBQS). The MBQS is a valid and reliable instrument that describes the quality of caregiver-infant interaction based on naturalistic observation; as a result it is a versatile resource in evaluating the effectiveness of early childhood interventions.
