EUAN-BRAGA, Erika Isabel  and  ECHEVERRIA-ECHEVERRIA, Rebelín. Psycho-pedagogical evaluation of children with Special Academic Needs: An interdisciplinary approach. Rev.latinoam.cienc.soc.niñez juv [online]. 2016, vol.14, n.2, pp.1103-1117. ISSN 1692-715X.  https://doi.org/10.11600/1692715x.14215250815.

In order to identify the special educational needs of children with or with out disabilities, it is important to carry out an interdisciplinary psycho-pedagogical assessment. This study analyzes an interdisciplinary methodological approach developed to assess children with disabilities. A multidisciplinary team of teachers and paraprofessionals participated in the study. The methodology used was Participatory Action Research, which included the phases of diagnostic, intervention, and evaluation. Different instruments were used to collect data, including semistructured interviews, participant observation, participatory techniques, document analysis and surveys. The results of the study show the importance of interdisciplinary work, clearly defined roles and responsibilities of professionals, the need for educational leaders with interpersonal skills and the implementation of disciplinary actions. Possible uses for the methodology that has been developed are also discussed.

Keywords : Participatory research; interdisciplinary approach; psycho-pedagogical evaluation; special educational needs; special education.
