DE MARTINO-BERMUDEZ, Mónica  e  LOPEZ, Fernando. Young people who not in employment, education or training (Neet) in Uruguay. The experience of the Youth in Network Program. Rev.latinoam.cienc.soc.niñez juv [online]. 2017, vol.15, n.2, pp.861-876. ISSN 1692-715X.  https://doi.org/10.11600/1692715x.1520502032015.

The situation of young people who neither work nor study has become more significant in Uruguay due to the results from the formal education system and the subsequent impact on youth unemployment. Focused on this issue, this study is a systematization of professional practice carried out in the Youth in Network Program developed by the Ministry of Social Development. This process has two objectives: firstly, to share the interventions that were designed and implemented as a contribution to working with young people. The purpose is to analyze the symbolic constructions of these young people about their own condition. During the research process three topics emerged that are discussed in this article: the difficulties of objectifying this population, the levels of unresolved anxiety that these young people face and the strong psycho-social domesticity that characterizes this population.

Palavras-chave : Youth; study; work; exclusion; Uruguay.
