Abstract

GOMEZ-AGUDELO, Jorge Wilson. Event and Listening: Review of studies on “the fallen student” and the student movement in Colombia. Rev.latinoam.cienc.soc.niñez juv [online]. 2018, vol.16, n.1, pp.71-87. ISSN 1692-715X.  https://doi.org/10.11600/1692715x.16103.

This research aims to understand the discursive conditions that allowed for the emergence and recurrence of the “fallen student” in Colombia. The review of related scientific literature and other texts is conducted through discourse analysis and the article enquires about continuities and transformations in both repression and resistance processes of student movements in Colombia. Through the concept of “juvenicide”, the normalization of repression is questioned as being deeply embedded both in the discursive order of the national doctrine of security and in the construction of the “internal enemy”. Through the concepts of event and listening the author enquires about resistance processes, as well as the resonances in what has mobilized the students.

Author key words: fallen students, student movements, juvenicide, discursive orders, resistance processes, event, listening.

Keywords : social movement; student movements; students; violence; resistance to oppression (Social Science Unesco Thesaurus).
