Abstract

BLANCO, Rafael  and  VOMMARO, Pablo. Youth activism in the 80s in Argentina: Two political generations between the party and the university. Rev.latinoam.cienc.soc.niñez juv [online]. 2018, vol.16, n.2, pp.839-852. ISSN 1692-715X.  https://doi.org/10.11600/1692715x.16213.

This article analyzes two main characteristics of youth activism that occurred in political parties and public universities in the 1980s in Argentina. Firstly, the authors highlight the coexistence of two political generations in youth organizations during this period. Secondly, the authors highlight the emergence of an ethos linked to democracy as a militant cause that structures the languages and repertoires of action in both spaces. From a set of in-depth interviews, the study recovers the daily dimensions of activism in a period with high levels of youth participation and mobilization in which there are changes and ruptures following the militancy of the seventies.

Keywords : Politics; daily life; democracy; youth participation; youth organization (Unesco Social Sciences Thesaurus).
