One of the distinctive features of human rights is their universal nature. Despite this, discrimination against children and adolescents has historically been invisible and normalized. The author argues that the legal and social treatment of children and adolescents is based on stereotypes, specifically cognitive bias. This means that it is necessary to identify these stereotypes and conceptualize and name discrimination, which will increase visibility. The terms mysopedia, adultism, and adultcentrism are proposed for naming this discrimination.
