Human brucelosis is usually detected on personnel whom keep permanent closer cattle contact or frequently ingestion of inadequate cattle derivated processed products. Methods: A cross-sectional study was designed to determinate the seroprevalence of Brucella infection in workers of slaughterhouses of the Tolima region (Colombia). A group of 186 workers were evaluated by using serological test like rose bengal test, complement fixation test and Elisa. Results: An aproximated 4% prevalence of Brucella antibodies were detected in the examinated population. Showy correlation between seropositive and hygienic work conditions were founded. Conclusions: Slaugtherhouses workers have an elevated risk infection due to Unfavorable work hygienical conditions.
