HURTADO IBARRA, Kennedy et al. Analysis of some risk factors about low weight in infants at birth from a logistic model polynomial. Prospect. [online]. 2015, vol.13, n.1, pp.76-85. ISSN 1692-8261.  https://doi.org/10.15665/rp.v13i1.362.

In this research was identified the multiple risk factors associated with low weight and underweight in a group of newborns from the city of Barranquilla and its area. The study was conducted with a random sample of 200 records of births obtained DANE census for 2008. In the model, the risk factors included were gender, size of newborns, gestational age, number of antenatal cares that took the mother, type of delivery of this birth, maternal age, number of children born alive to mother and number of pregnancies. It was considered that there is little risk of low birth weight, when the birth of a child is less than 36 weeks gestation with 46 cm in length. Moreover, the risk of being born with underweight is higher, usually in girls with about 48 cm long and 39 weeks of gestation.
