Abstract

GOMEZ ECHEVERRY, Lesly Lisbeth et al. Anthropometry and baropodometry as foot characterization techniques and tools that provide criteria for ergonomics and comfort in footwear design and manufacture: a systematic review. Prospect. [online]. 2018, vol.16, n.1, pp.7-17. ISSN 1692-8261.  https://doi.org/10.15665/rp.v16i1.901.

The increasing production of footwear and competitiveness has led the colombian businessmen to manufacture shoes with added value. To achieve this, the concepts of ergonomics and comfort play a significant role. To this effect, it is necessary to know the foot dimensions of the target audiences to design the lasts, sole pads and soles that fit correctly. Anthropometry defines these dimensions and the associated technology is useful to manufacture shoes. Nevertheless, colombian manufacturers use the dimensions provided by american and european standards. It calls for an evaluation of the state of the characterization process of the foot globally and locally, and the Disponible in technologies to perform it. The literature review was performed through exhaustive search in academic databases, where keywords and search formulas were identified. The information was classified according to the publication date, the methodology used in each work, the scientific rigor and the depth of the analysis. The review led to identify that the sole pressure analysis complement the anthropometric studies in the footwear development, 3D technology is currently the most used technology for anthropometric studies and that in Colombia, as in most latinamerican countries, the antropometric studies are few and outdated.
