This study was carried out in order to evaluate the global scientific production related to the production of biodiesel fuel taking into account bases and information from the years covered from 2009-2016. The results of publications, journals, subject categories, institutions were analyzed to find the worldwide research output of biodiesel. In addition, “Word cluster analysis” was applied to show a view of trends in biodiesel production and its manufacture. The results indicate that the annual publications on biodiesel production have been increasing since 2009 and with a significant advance of almost double between 2010 and 2011. China and Malaysia with 3 institutions worldwide are in the top 10 contributing institutions in relation to biodiesel production in recent years.
